Environmental Design and Inspection Services offers a comprehensive package to make this a reality, working closely with you, your architect / designer and your builder. If you are outside Southern California, I will work in close cooperation with your architect and builder, as I have done on numerous projects throughout the country.

For those of you in Southern California, Oram can introduce you to a local team of builders and consultants who have experience in building sustainable, healthy homes and offices. These include a team headed by Mary Cordaro of Mary Cordaro, Inc., a fellow building biologist. Mary and her team of IAQ (indoor air quality), ventilation and building science experts provide healthy protocols for new and remodeled homes and workplaces, with careful consideration of the needs of the chemically-sensitive. Mary is located in the San Fernando Valley, north of Los Angeles. I would participate by providing a healthy wiring protocol to prevent and significantly reduce exposure to harmful electromagnetic and radio frequency fields.

The other team is headed by Ellen Strickland, proprietor of Livingreen, a local Southern California green building materials retailer with stores in Culver City, Santa Barbara and Montecito. I would likewise provide a healthy wiring protocol.

The package includes twelve hours of consultation time, as follows:

• A two hour initial consultation with you, the homeowner. This initial meeting can include your architect / designer / builder if they have already been retained.
• Four additional hours of consultation with you and your architect / designer / builder and subcontractors.
• Four hours of on-site inspection and oversight during construction, including a final walk-through and new homeowner education, if you are in Minnesota and surrounding states. Otherwise the services of a local Building Biologist are utilized for on-site inspection and co-management.
• Two hours of telephone consultation with you during construction.
• For out of state clients this service is provided by telephone, email and fax in association with your architect and builder.

The total cost for this package is $995. An initial payment of $375 of the total fee is expected at the time of the first consultation and the remainder is due in installments as the work progresses. Consultation time spent in excess of this package is billed at the rate of $95 per hour.

A full healthy wiring protocol is also available for your electrical contractor as a separate, stand-alone document for $295.

The initial consultation can occur as an information gathering meeting before committing to the service. The fee is $375. If you decide to proceed with the rest of the consultation service, the initial $375 is applied to the package price.
